UK Company Formation
How long does UK company formation normally take?+
Most applications are ready to file within one working day of receiving verified identity documents. Once filed, Companies House typically completes incorporation within 24 hours, subject to any queries.
What documents are normally required?+
Passport or national ID and address evidence for each director, and confirmation of the intended company name, activity, share structure and PSCs. Additional documents are prepared when a corporate shareholder is involved.
Are government fees included?+
The Companies House filing fee is included within our formation service. Any additional statutory filings (name changes, share allotments) are quoted transparently before work begins.
Non-UK Residents
Can a non-UK resident establish a UK company?+
Yes. Non-resident founders from Europe, the United States and further afield can incorporate a UK private limited company. Identity verification is more involved than for domestic founders but is a well-travelled route.
Do I need to live in the United Kingdom?+
No. There is no residency requirement for directors or shareholders of a UK limited company.
Do I need to travel to the UK?+
No. Formation and identity verification are handled remotely.
Directors and Shareholders
How many directors and shareholders can a UK Ltd have?+
A minimum of one natural-person director is required. A UK Ltd can have any number of shareholders, individual or corporate.
Can a corporate entity be a shareholder?+
Yes. Corporate shareholders are recorded on the PSC register with supporting documentation.
Registered Office Address
What is a Registered Office Address?+
It is the address at which Companies House and HMRC send statutory correspondence. It must be a physical UK address and appears on the public register.
Director Service Address
What is the difference between a Registered Office and a Service Address?+
The Registered Office is the company's statutory correspondence address. A Director Service Address is the address for each director published on the public register in place of their residential address.
Virtual Business Address
Can I use a Virtual Business Address?+
Yes, for operational correspondence and external presentation. It is distinct from the Registered Office and is not a substitute for it.
Companies House Compliance
What ongoing filings does a UK Ltd have?+
A confirmation statement each year, PSC updates when significant control changes, and annual accounts. Separate obligations apply at HMRC.
What happens after incorporation?+
We hand over the corporate documents pack, set up the compliance calendar and, where the package includes it, prepare the banking and payment-provider readiness dossier.
Banking Readiness
Does UK Business Experts guarantee a bank account?+
No. No adviser can guarantee UK business banking. Approval sits with the bank in every case. Our role is to prepare the founder and documentation so the application is credible.
What does banking readiness mean?+
A prepared business summary, source-of-funds narrative, structural clarity and consistent supporting documentation, presented in the form UK banks expect.
Payment Providers
Can you guarantee Stripe or another payment provider?+
No. Payment provider onboarding sits entirely with the provider. We prepare the dossier — company documents, activity description, ownership, website — to give the application its best chance.
VAT and EORI
Do you register for VAT?+
We coordinate UK VAT registration where the business model, turnover or preference calls for it. Ongoing VAT filings are typically handled by an appropriate independent professional.
What is EORI and when do I need it?+
An EORI number is required for moving goods across the UK border. We coordinate registration where relevant.
Packages and Fees
What is included in Concierge Complete?+
Adviser-led formation, address arrangements, banking and payment-provider readiness, VAT and EORI coordination where required, a 12-month compliance calendar and a dedicated point of contact. Full details are on the homepage.
Is the fee a one-off?+
The advisory fee is one-off. Ongoing services such as registered address are renewed annually and quoted transparently in advance.
Which countries do you support?+
The United Kingdom, Europe, Canada and the United States. See our Countries pages for country-specific guidance.
Consultation Process
How do I begin?+
Complete the private consultation form on the Contact page. An adviser will review your enquiry and reply with the appropriate next step.
Europe and United States Clients
Which US structures can hold a UK Ltd?+
LLCs, C-Corps and S-Corps can all hold shares in a UK Ltd. We prepare the PSC documentation to record the ownership properly.
Do you provide tax or legal advice?+
No. Regulated tax and legal advice are outside our advisory scope. Where required we may coordinate an introduction to an appropriate independent professional.
Ongoing Support
How is my information handled?+
Client information is handled with professional discretion. Statutory disclosure and identification requirements continue to apply. See our Privacy notice for full detail.
Can I upgrade my package later?+
Yes. Founders regularly begin with Launch and move to Executive or Concierge Complete as the business grows. We credit fees paid within the first year against the higher tier.
